ABOUT ME

JG Bespoke Woodworking Norwich Norfolk Handmade Pens

My name is James Garwood,  I have been a cabinet maker for over 15 years, in which time I have made furniture for royalty, had pieces of work sold in Harrods and other pieces sold all over the world.

Woodwork has turned from a job into a passion which I love and I find it extremely satisfying to watch a piece of furniture grow and take shape.

I decided to try and make something very personal which were more intricate and needed more attention to detail, so decided to make handmade pens.

I turn each individual pen on a lathe in my workshop, using lots of exotic woods. I have also collected interesting local wood and have pens made from Cromer Pier, Cromer Church and driftwood found along Cromer Beach. This gives each pen a more personal touch. Every pen is finished in 15 coats of very hard wearing CA glue and sanded from 300 grit up to 12000 grit sandpaper for a deep high gloss shine,

I really enjoy the attention to detail needed to make each pen perfect, and when I hand over a finished pen the joy I see from the customer is priceless.
